BANGKOK, THAILAND (30 November 2011) – The International Conference GMS 2020 scheduled for 15-16 November 2011 in Bangkok has been postponed due to the prevailing flooding of Bangkok and its vicinity.
The Special 12th RPTCC meeting (RPTCC-12-A) was held mainly to continue discussions on the inter-governmental MOU to establish the Regional Power Coordination Center (RPCC), which will oversee the evolution of the GMS power market toward a more open, but appropriately regulated competitive market.
Over the past 20 years, the Greater Mekong Subregion Program has achieved substantial success in improving regional connectivity through investments of $15 billion as well as more than 180 technical assistance projects.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES (11 December 2013) – A new bridge straddling the Mekong River between Thailand and Lao People’s Democratic Republic is open for business, signaling completion of physical works along one of the Greater Mekong Subregion’s most critical economic corridors.
The joint declaration, entitled "Committed to Inclusive and Sustainable Development in the GMS," was issued at the 5th Greater Mekong Subregion Summit of Leaders in Bangkok, Thailand on 19-20 December 2014.

BANGKOK, THAILAND (20 December 2014) — The President of the Asian Development Bank, Takehiko Nakao, completed a 2-day visit to Bangkok today, where he participated in the 5th Leaders’ Summit of the Greater Mekong Subregion and met top officials of the host country to discuss ADB’s deepening partnership with Thailand.
