Greater Mekong Subregion Tourism Recovery Communications Plan
The Greater Mekong Subregion has increasingly focused on developing sustainable and inclusive tourism in recent years, with positive changes fostered by strong engagement between government, the private sector, and civil society.

Viet Nam Eyes Development of Rural Tourism Powered by Digital Technology
Viet Nam is eyeing the development of rural tourism—such as community-based tourism, agricultural tourism, and ecotourism—backed by digital transformation.
Viet Nam has around 365 rural tourism spots and more than 2,000 traditional craft villages with potential for development under rural tourism.

$82 Million ADB Loan to Improve Cambodian Roads, Support GMS Economic Corridors
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved an $82 million loan to improve about 48 kilometers of national and provincial roads in Prey Veng and Kandal to boost economic development along the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Southern Economic Corridor.
Start-Ups Deliver Inclusive Tourism in the Mekong Region
The Mekong region is introducing tourists to a wider array of attractions after several tourism start-ups are placed under an innovation accelerator program supported by the Asian Development Bank and the Government of Australia.
GMS COVID-19 Response and Recovery Plan 2021–2023
The Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) COVID-19 Response and Recovery Plan 2021–2023 aims to coordinate the efforts of GMS countries on issues that require greater regional cooperation and integration (RCI) to respond to COVID-19 pandemic more effectively. This Plan complements and supports implementation of the GMS Economic Cooperation Program Strategic Framework 2030 (GMS-2030).
