PRC 2019 Growth Outlook Revised to 6.3%, 2018 Steady at 6.6% — ADB

HONG KONG, CHINA (26 September 2018) — Slower demand growth and an unfavorable trade environment has dampened the People’s Republic of China’s (PRC) growth outlook for 2019, although supply-side reform, strong service sector growth, as well as monetary and fiscal support will keep the PRC’s economy on track, according to a new report by the Asian Development Bank.


Lao PDR Set for Moderate Growth in 2018 and 2019 — ADB

VIENTIANE, LAO PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC (26 September 2018) — Economic growth for the Lao People’s Democratic Republic is expected to moderate in 2018, as agriculture and mining outputs are forecast to underperform, although an expansion in electricity generation, construction, and services will partially offset these adverse effects, according to a new Asian Development Bank report.


ADB to Improve Environmental Services in Two GMS Corridor Towns in Lao PDR

VIENTIANE, LAO PEOPLE’S DEMOCRACTIC REPUBLIC (17 September 2018) — The Asian Development Bank’s Board of Directors has approved a $48 million grant to help improve urban environmental services and enhance economic connectivity in Paksan and Thakhek, two of the least developed towns along the Greater Mekong Subregion Central Corridor in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
