The workshop “COVID-19 Food Security Response and Recovery Actions in Cambodia” was held virtually on 3 March 2022. It was led by Cambodia’s national coordinator of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Working Group on Agriculture (WGA), and attended by about 50 representatives from the government, development partners and the private sector. The workshop discussed priority actions for agriculture and food security in accelerating Cambodia’s response and recovery from COVID-19.

The workshop is supported by the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security Program (TA 9916). TA 9916 aims to contribute to the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) assistance on COVID-19 agricultural sector response and assist in promoting cooperation across the GMS on COVID-19 response and recovery efforts. This workshop in Cambodia builds upon the GMS Working Group on Agriculture (WGA) post-pandemic food security response and recovery workshop and follows up on the five track actions presented and agreed at the GMS WGA COVID-19 Food Security Response and Recovery Actions in the GMS held on 1 September 2021.

This workshop in September also presented the first TA-9916 knowledge product, “COVID-19 Response and Recovery Experience in the GMS.” This report offers an up-to-date overview of COVID-19 risks and responses and their implications for agri-food value chains around the GMS.
