Strategic environmental assessments (SEA), which assess policies, plans, and programs, can have a real influence on the choice of possible development pathways, generation technologies to be prioritized, and other policy options. It can ensure that environmental and sustainability considerations are taken into account at the early stages of the decision making process.
This book is the second in a three-volume series of studies arising from the project . It shows how a set of indicators can be used to analyze power development plans in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) to achieve greater sustainability. It explains why these particular indicators were selected, why they are important, how they can be measured, and what the indicators reveal.
