Join the ADB Southeast Asia Development Symposium 2020

Event

21 October 2020

The first Southeast Asia Development Symposium (SEADS) will be held online on 21 October 2020. SEADS aims to help crystallize thinking on critical development issues, and to support countries in Southeast Asia in successfully making the transition to becoming high-income, knowledge-based, and sustainable economies. This annual event will serve as a platform for countries to share insights, innovations, and experience on areas of practical policy relevance.

As the world grapples with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), this year’s SEADS will focus on how digital technology can play an integral part of countries’ longer-term economic recovery as countries continue to grapple with the “new normal.”

The symposium will also launch the Southeast Asia Development Solutions (SEADS) Knowledge and Innovation Platform, which is envisaged to be a new knowledge and innovation platform that will provide a steady stream of insights on new technologies, innovations, and best practices to help countries address pressing challenges. The SEADS platform will also facilitate matchmaking and leveraging engagements, support knowledge sharing, and provide capacity-building opportunities.
