Kerry Logistics to Develop Dry Port in Vientiane

The Singapore subsidiary of Kerry Logistics Network Limited will develop a dry port in the capital of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) with local company Sitthi Logistics.

The dry port will be developed at Vientiane Logistics Park, which is close to the border with Thailand at Nong Khai.

Kerry Logistics, a company based in Hong Kong, China, announced the joint venture between KLN (Singapore) Pte Ltd, and Sitthi Logistics on 5 April. The company said the dry port project is part of a strategy to expand in Southeast Asia by developing an integrated Greater Mekong Subregion platform, covering Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Thailand. The dry port will facilitate the transfer of cargo at Vientiane by road and rail.
