ADB Approves $32.5 Million Financing to Boost Cambodia Border Health Services

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved $32.5 million in financing to improve access to quality health services in Banteay Meanchey, a border province in northwest Cambodia that serves as a hub for departing and returning migrants, and those seeking employment in the province’s special economic zones.


ADB Holds Lecture on the Establishment and Early Years of the GMS Program

In commemoration of 30 years of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) program, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) hosted a "Lecture on Dividends of Peace: Lessons from the Establishment and Early Years of the GMS Program" on 25 October 2022. Former ADB Programs Department (West) Director General Noritada Morita shared his account of the history, evolution, and contributions of the GMS program.



50th Meeting of the Greater Mekong Subregion Tourism Working Group (TWG-50)

The Government of Viet Nam, with the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO) as co-organizer, hosted the 50th Meeting of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Tourism Working Group (TWG-50) on 11 October 2022 in Quang Nam, Viet Nam. The meeting was attended by senior and mid-level officials representing the National Tourism Organizations of the six GMS countries, MTCO, development partners and organizations including ASEAN Japan Centre (AJC), Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), and Asian Development Bank.



Boosting Livelihoods in Lao People’s Democratic Republic through Better Water Infrastructure

ADB approved $36.5 million loan and grant for the Lao PDR in 2012 to improve the country’s capacity and preparedness to manage and mitigate the impacts of flood and drought through the Greater Mekong Subregion Flood and Drought Risks Management and Mitigation Project in Vientiane capital and provinces of Khammouan and Savannakhet.


The People’s Republic of China Poverty Reduction and Regional Cooperation Fund

Over the past 17 years, the PRC Fund has supported 135 applications in ADB developing members and achieved good results, and will continue to promote common prosperity and shared development by supporting poverty reduction in Asia and the Pacific, regional cooperation and integration, and knowledge sharing through technical assistance and grants.

ADB Launches New Country Partnership Strategy for Viet Nam

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has launched a new country partnership strategy (CPS) for Viet Nam covering the period 2023–2026. The strategy will help promote inclusive, green, and private sector-led development in Viet Nam and build a foundation for the country to achieve its goal of becoming upper middle-income by 2030.
